On the afternoon of March 30, the students of the 22nd Grade, Agricultural Economics Major from the Department of Economic Management visited the Songjiang Cloth Exhibition Hall.

Songjiang Cloth Exhibition Hall is located at No. 203, Zhongshan West Road, Songjiang District. It displays modern Songjiang cotton cloth, weaving tools, dowry boxes and other graphic materials. Through the explanation, the students learned that in the early years of the Yuan Dynasty, Huang Daopo, a native of Wu Nijing, Songjiang Prefecture, brought advanced cotton textile technology back to her hometown from Hainan. After improving the textile tools, almost every household in Songjiang at that time started to spin yarn and weave cloth. Later in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Songjiang has become the manufacturing center of China's cotton textile industry. Song Yingxing of the Ming Dynasty and Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty spoke highly of Songjiang's cloth industry.

In addition, the overall architecture of the exhibition hall is also quite interesting. It is an ancient building with three entrances and two floors in the Qing Dynasty, which well retains the original features and structure. The most precious exhibition of the museum is the delicate silk, satin and cotton cloth gift certificate of Da Sheng Store collected in Kaifeng, Henan Province. It was the dowry of a Songjiang girl who married to Henan at that time. A student said: I think Songjiang cloth, as a necessary dowry for Jiangnan women, is not only the inheritance of traditional skills, but also a good wish for the daughter's future life.

After the visit, Mr. Tang Zhenglong, the inheritor of intangible cultural heritage bamboo weaving skills, taught the teachers and students the knowledge and skills of bamboo weaving from the six steps of picking bamboo, preparing materials, soaking, dyeing, weaving, and seaming, and led them to weave simple bamboo boats. With few moves of pulling, inserting, and piercing, Mr. Tang can easily create a lifelike boat model. He patiently explained each step with vivid words, and the students watched and learned carefully. Tang Zhenglong is a native of Songjiang. He is good at bamboo weaving skills. He was rated as the inheritor of Songjiang District-level Intangible Cultural Heritage and was awarded the title of Star in the family handicraft category by Songjiang government in 2015.

As an important part of Chinese traditional culture, intangible cultural heritage is an inexhaustible spiritual rich mine. This year is the eighth year for SHAFC to carry out intangible cultural heritage activities. In the future, the school will organize different intangible cultural heritage project activities to improve students' cultural literacy.
