The department was established in January 2014. It has four majors: Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Environment Engineering Technology, Food Processing and Testing, as well as Agricultural Product Quality Testing. There are pilot classes of Food Processing and Testing for middle and high school and high-level integration, and several modern apprenticeship classes and pilot classes for ordering classes.
The department has a municipal teaching team and 4 municipal excellent courses. There are currently 30 faculty members in the department, including 20 full-time teachers. There are also 1 overseas famous teacher, 2 specially-appointed professors, 1 municipal famous teacher, 6 associate senior professors, 5 teachers with doctoral degrees, 15 teachers with master degrees, 19 dual-qualified teachers, and more than 20 part-time leaders or teachers from enterprises in the department.
At present, the department has 18 laboratories such as Experimental Animal Training Center, Agricultural Product Testing Training Center, Fermentation Training Room, Food, Fruit, Vegetable and Beverage Processing, Environmental Monitoring, Biotechnology, etc. The laboratories are equipped with Gas Chromatograph, Fluorescence Quantitative PCR Instrument, which can both meet the needs of students for professional experimental training and provide platforms for teachers' scientific research and social training.
